Who we are

Maura O’Connor (moconnor@oconnorcochran.com) is the managing partner of O’Connor Cochran LLP, a boutique firm specializing in real estate and business matters.  She was the first woman chair of the Board of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, and continues to serve on its Executive Committee.   Maura was named one of the top 10 real estate lawyers in Southern California by Real Estate Southern California.  She has extensive experience in complex real estate financing transactions, commercial purchases and dispositions, official, industrial and retail leasing, and foreclosures and workours, dating back to the late 1980s.  See more.

Jim Cochran (jcochran@oconnorcochran.com) has extensive experience advising clients in mortgage and mezzanine financing, commercial leasing, and workouts and restructurings, particularly those involving complex collateral packages and multiple jurisdictions.  Jim served as co-chair of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Committee of the Business Law Section, State Bar of California, and is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Financial Lawyers Conference.  See more.

Jamie Clark (jclark@oconnorcochran.com) began his practice as a complex finance and corporate workouts lawyer, starting out with the corporate restructuring team at Shearman & Sterling at 53 Wall Street in New York.  He assisted banks and high-tech companies in acquisitions, financing, and IT licensing deals through the 1990s, and became one of the early specialist practitioners in Internet law and electronic transactions, back when most of the experts in that field fit into one pub at ABA meetings, and chaired its first subcommittee on electronic commerce for two terms.  Jamie handles workouts and corporate finance transactions for OCC.  He also serves as General Counsel for OASIS, one of the oldest and largest Internet standards consortia, where he manages their contracting, intellectual property, privacy and cybersecurity risks and strategic alliances.  See more.
